Academy memoir
Ken Cameron (1962-67) has got in touch to say that he is currently working on a memoir of his time at the Academy...

"I am working on a memoir of my time at the Academy. In doing so, I find that I have forgotten many things, and I think it certain that I have incorrectly remembered many others.

It occurs to me that a partial remedy for both of these problems would be to draw on the recollections of my contemporaries at the Academy. I have in mind doing this by posting the memoir as a work in progress on my own website, providing a facility for commenting on it, and inviting comments from fellow Accies."

Watt Memorial Trust
The Watt Trust was set up in 1983 in memory of Rob Watt (S1911-16) and his wife Barbara. He was a distinguished OF, whose teaching career ended with eleven years as Rector of the Edinburgh Academy (1951-62). In retirement he returned to his old school, where he was Keeper of the Fettes Register until 1979.

The aim of the Trust is to give financial assistance to past and present members of Fettes and the Edinburgh Academy, to enable them to “advance their education or professional training beyond the point at which public funds or university scholarships are available, or when private or family sources alone are not quite adequate for the purpose.”
